This is an automotive DIY channel focused on maintenance, repairs, and enhancements. I started posting videos on RUclips as a way to "give back" to the community. What I mean by "give back" is, I always check RUclips for projects that I'm about to tackle and get and idea of what I am getting into. I thought that I would give an additional perspective on a project that maybe another video was missing or just an alternative way to do something.

2003 Toyota corolla , has a no crank no start situation . I’m starting to think this might be the cause of that

I have a 2009 Chevy Silverado. I removed a compestar cm 7200 remote start and now it won't start any help would be appreciated
@@LarryHickman-m9o they probably had a starter interrupt. In this video I had to reconnect the starter wire because there was a starter interrupt relay aka starter kill relay. The Compustar may have had that built in so you wouldn't see the relay like in the video. You would have a wire coming from the ignition that has been cut in two that just needs reconnected. Let me know if this helps.
@@DCAutoEnhancement This actually is Larry's wife.. It's my truck my babe. Someone tried to steal it . Thankfully got interrupted. They grilled out my cylinder so I replaced and got a new key. And I removed the remote starter. The mobile programmer came to program it. And it wouldn't even read it. So I believe there is something I missed
By any chance do you do service calls via video or anything I'm really struggling with this. I'm very mechanically inclined. I do most of my own repairs. This one has got me stumped. It was running perfect before this mayhem. But I checked the battery, checked the fuses. Cleaned my grounds all off. Still no start and no crank. I've did the back ECU reprogramming and nothing. I believe there might be a wire missing from the bcm

I have an issue with the same engine on a chrysler that leaks fluid from the bottom of the housing unit. Any answers on how to fix it.
I would say your housing may be cracked and leaking or you have a bad gasket and it's leaking. You can get this code from being low on coolant which sounds like what is causing your issue.
Hey...why did you unbolt the idler pulley before pulling out the alternator. Couldnt you have pulled out alternator first ?
@@teesea4615 idk, I would have to do the job again or watch the video again. I may not have done the job the most efficient way as possible, I just wanted to share how I did it.

The caliber boot got twisted up and possibly has a tiny hole in it now ?? My brake pedal continues press to the floor
even after pumping the pedal a couple times?
@@DCAutoEnhancement yes pumped it up a hundred times ran around …it stops but the stopping power is horrible I have to press all the way to the floor to come to a complete stop

How long can I drive with belt where the pulley damaged the belt
@@user-ij7em4nw3l if you have identified that the belt is damaged, I would replace it as soon as possible. Once they are damaged, they are unpredictable in how long they will last.
Very helpful but i dont understand why the new replacement balljoint doesnt have a rubber boot on it...

Could having a remote start mess up your battery?
@@alexis471221 generally speaking, no, it shouldn't cause any issues with your battery. However, if wire connections have become weak (especially the ground wire), that can cause a drain on the battery. Also, if you have had the remote start installed for a long time, the electronics in the main brain could be failing, causing battery drain issues. I guess maybe tell me what issues you are having?
Any idea if this would work for a 2020 equinox
@@huntermowery871 I have not looked into this. You will just have to look into other vehicles that share the same platform. My Equinox was the theta platform and so was the Saturn that's why I was confident that the Saturn parts would work

My outlet failed as I was returning home. After pulling the car over, I noticed the reservoir was empty. After getting the car home, I began filling the reservoir with coolant. My "no initial leaks" was soon replaced with "what the heck"! Replacing the outlet myself, is much less expensive than having the car towed and diagnosed.

If only those weren't so trashy from a hardware perspective, the only fancy thing is the screen and typically low price of those china made one piece units. You'd be way better off just getting a Connects2 CTKFD31 kit or some other kit to make it possible to mount a 2-din head unit and a proper head unit like a pioneer SPH-DA77DAB or something similar from a reputable brand, why not throw in a reverse camera too. Although the screens are smaller, they're easily enough for navigation and some media playing if you really care to. Honestly, you have a phone for video playback or you can bring an ipad or laptop if that's something you like to do, that'd give a far better experience. A screen size this is just about the cool and sleek factor without any real practicality except gps routes ending up a bit bigger. If one wants bigger screens, there are 1-din and 2-din head units where the screen isn't integrated but outside of the head unit for more display area than the 2-din slot allows, those tend to be somewhat more expensive however but can give far bigger and wider screens. Get them from a proper brand. Even if we look away from the lackluster hardware specs (and often hidden specs), who knows what kind of spyware and crap is on the non-brand crap. Not worth it. If Pioneer and other brands came out with a proper version of this, that'd be another story, but so far there simply isn't a good market for them as the 1-din screen outside the console is preferred.
I agree. 💯 I didn't want to spend any money on this car but the radio quit working and this has a certain WOW factor.

I got my grandfathers 59 trophy ranchero as a roller thats sat in a garage for 40 years... and it looks like it needs a frame (and a motor) and while I cant bring myself to put a chevy motor in it (no hate just doesnt feel right) im looking to have to adapt a frame from either an expedition or a bronco, f150 or so on. so this is all useful knowledge.

This is my first time doing something like this so I wanted to go with what is easiest to find information on like the LS motor and the S10 frame. I am putting air ride on it too so the S10 platform I thought would be the easiest to find parts for. I hope you decide to build your Ranchero. If you do, consider making a RUclips channel I'd you don't already have one and I invite you to follow along with mine. I am getting close to being able to start on the body. I have a 2013 Chevy Equinox. I received all of the same warning lights on my instrument panel. Can I unplug one wheel speed sensor at a time to determine which one may have gone defective? The auto parts store does not come up with an error code.
@@lgsr1 I think if you unplug one at a time, it will still act the same. You basically want the real time data pin point it
goat tier video. my 2012 focus has a coolant leak in the back right of the engine bay. first video i open I hear "you probably have a coolant leak in a 2012 ford focus... if this is in the top right of your engine"
I own a 65 my step father got me for high school. It was a project for me and him. I joined the military and for 6 years then mom and him got a divorce he ended up giving me the title and car. It a rotted out floor. Seeing your build is so awseome i have always wanted to do a frame "swap". Thank you so much for posting this build. The end goal is to build this thing and give it back to him. Your my new favorate youtuber. Ill be watching

Did you torque the castle nut to that spec because mine went right past the threads trying to get to that spec? Same year make model

After no success and having my local Dodge dealer troubleshoot this issue twice I decided to DIY this common issue. Has anyone replaced the wiring harness associated with the short runner valve? I replaced the SRV , removed and cleaned the intake manifold, but still receiving the p1004. In addition I went as far as trying a new intake manifold with the short runner valves intact, reset the ECU, and still no resolution.
Unfortunately, I didn't have much to offer on a potential resolution. Working makes sense
@@DCAutoEnhancement thanks for your response I recently learned that the short runner valve has an energized / de- energized specification . My understanding is that the ECU needs to see these metrics in order to determine whether or not there is good connectivity/voltage /resistance to the SRV.

I needed to connect my phone to my radio real quick for testing, and it kept saying I was driving because I didn't bother setting up the parking brake wire since I don't have it yet... I found that if you tap the parking break wire to the thick black wire coming out of the radio's plug and then hold it, it will think you have the parking brake on, so you can set up android auto before you actually get the wire for the parking brake job. Also, that vestigial plug made me think I was going to have major problems... Nope! The old radio needed that plug, but the new one only uses one of the plugs (though, it probably uses two of the car's plugs in the wiring harness if you have the 2009 Hyundai Elantra with the second wiring setup that uses 3 plugs instead of 2!)

Looks to me you got lucky on where it broke. Coulda just used a needle nose pliers or vise grips on the screw/bolt and pulled it out.

@@DCAutoEnhancement ford built tough they say On serious note. I just sold a 12 fukus and the oem deck is kaput. Promised new wonders owner's that I'll jam this 11th wonder of the world for a stereo for them......when I go to buy one it gets a bit confusing, some say apple car play AND android auto, some say just one or the other. Also, how familiar are you with the difference between 1gb/32gb vs 2gb/32gb vs 2gb/64gb versions. Also my dear friend, if you think that you can put the end to my fears by shining the light of glory on the fact that my 12 fukus has one plug going to the back of the receiver, and the antenna. But there is an empty spot on the receiver that has nothing going into it. Do you think if I buy this chines made lovely piece of equipment, all the features will work? God bless for your time
@@dkrawk8309 I don't really know about the GB but I think the higher the number the more storage memory it has and the faster the processing speed. I think if you bought this unit, it would suffice. It will work whereas the original unit does not. I put this in my step daughters car and she hasn't had any issues with it.
